Personal data we process

We process mainly data you provide through the order form, e-mail, phone or other communication: contact details, phone number, e-mail address, first letter of given name, gender, selected method of reading, information about previous palm leaf reading, message text and the attached thumbprint. For accounting documents we may also process billing details.

Purposes and legal bases

• Handling enquiries, arranging a date and providing the reading: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps.
• Issuing invoices and keeping accounting records: compliance with legal obligations.
• E-mail and phone communication, replies to questions and request records: legitimate interest in communication with clients and enquirers.
• Protection of legal claims and technical logging of form submissions: legitimate interest in protecting the service and the controller's rights.

Thumbprint and transfer of data to India

To find the corresponding palm leaf, it may be necessary to work with the thumbprint and related data provided in the enquiry. Data necessary for finding and translating the leaf is transferred to cooperating palm leaf libraries and translators in India for the purpose of providing the ordered service.

India is a third country outside the European Union. We transfer only data necessary for providing the service and only to the extent relevant to the agreed reading. If you do not agree with this transfer, the palm leaf reading service cannot normally be provided.

Retention period

• Communication and enquiries are kept for the time needed to handle them, but usually no longer than 3 years from the last communication unless longer retention is required to protect legal claims.
• Order-related data is kept for the time necessary to provide the service and then for the time necessary to protect legal claims.
• Accounting and tax documents are kept for the period required by law, usually 10 years.
• Technical logs of order form submissions are kept for delivery checks and abuse protection, usually no longer than 12 months.

Cookies

The website uses technical cookies necessary for proper display and for remembering the cookie banner choice. The website currently does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager or other marketing or analytics scripts launched without consent.

If analytics or marketing tools are added in the future, they will be launched only after the visitor's active consent.

Recipients

Personal data may be made available to the hosting provider, e-mail service provider, accountant or tax adviser, public authorities where required by law, and cooperating palm leaf libraries and translators in India to the extent necessary to provide the service.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, object to processing and request data portability where legal conditions are met.
